Online Career Days were organized by OSTİM Technical University Career Planning and On-the-Job Training Office. In the first of the Career Days organized to support the career journeys of students, 27 leading companies of the sector such as ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, STM, MAN, ROKETSAN and Pi Makine were brought together with the students.
In the two-day Career Days, the company’s student meeting, as well as the inspiring speeches and seminars of the representatives of the industry giants, shed light on the way for students to reach their goals.
Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OSTİM and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of OSTİM Technical University, said, “Education is not only the duty of educational institutions. Our industrialists are also an important part of education. Our companies are also universities, an important pillar of education. I think that our companies in our ecosystem have a high level of sensitivity. We want to do the task we are doing for everyone with much more so that our young people who are entrusted to us grow up and find a job after graduation.” said. OSTİM Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Yülek, stating that they are the first industrial university in Turkey and the world, said, “We will also give our first graduates this year. We are very happy that our graduates have started to be useful to Turkey, the institutions they work for and themselves by getting a job in our best companies. We will graduate over 100 students this year; Each and every one of these students is very valuable. There are those who have won various awards, and those who have produced and developed some products. Even after developing those products, they come to us and look for investors. We have very enterprising students. They work in various companies under the Workplace Practice course. We also control those companies; companies are extremely satisfied. They want to offer students jobs. We want our first students to get jobs without any wastage.” said.
Pointing to the importance of companies in the concept of “Industrial University”, Yülek emphasized that they are also universities like themselves. Murat Yülek said: “The university has two functions; education and knowledge production. Corporations are sacred institutions. They provide training, do R&D, provide employment, export, pay taxes. Companies are like saplings, we need to protect them.”
