Experience & Activities
After completing his diploma education at Istanbul University, he received his Ph.D. from Ludwigs-Maximillian University(LMU) in Munich with the grade “With distinction “very good” and continued his academic career first at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, then he got a call as the founder and chair of the Department of Natural Sciences in German Language at the Faculty of Education, Hacettepe University, Ankara. He has worked as Head of Research Center, Dean of Faculty of Education, Hacettepe University; and Advisor to the Rector of Işık University, in İstanbul and Deputy Dean of Faculty of Engineering.He has published 235 research articles in Turkish and 150 in foreign languages, including 50 in SCI extended journals and 22 books, eight in foreign languages and 14 in Turkish. He has contributed two chapters in two international books.He was awarded “Outstanding Achievement in Science Award” by Hacettepe University Senate; he received “Henry Ford Environment Award” for “Manejman Planning of the Sultansazlığı” project; for his contributions to environmental science, he was awarded “Environmental Service Science Award” by Akdeniz University and “Science Award” by Ministry of Forestry and Water for research on wetland protection.He received “DAAD” and “Alexander von Humboldt” scholarships (AvH), one of the most prestigious science scholarships in Germany. He has worked and conductedscientific projects as a visiting professor at the University of Heidelberg, LMU, Technical University of Munich, Technical University of Braunschweig and Berlin.He was the president of the Association of AvH Scholars and he is the second chairman of the Turkish-German Cultural Advisory Council and visa president of the Association of Graduates of the Technical University of Berlin.
