Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology and Operations (Turkish)

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a type of flying vehicle that does not physically contain humans. The most important and indispensable component of UAVs is a communication system between a ground-based controller and the aircraft. It is a kind of aircraft that does not have a pilot or passenger, carries only the equipment suitable for the purpose (video camera, camera, GNSS, laser scanning device, etc.), can perform its mission remotely and/or automatically. Military, civilian (hobby and commercial) and professional use of UAVs for scientific purposes is increasing rapidly in our country and all over the world, therefore, it is considered that this issue will become more of an agenda in the coming years. It is a two-year training program in order to ensure that the qualified manpower needed in suitable positions such as design, production, maintenance, operation and pilotage of unmanned aerial vehicle technology is trained in accordance with the quality and service philosophy that will meet the expectations of the age. Graduates are researchers in companies engaged in research and development on unmanned aerial vehicle technologies; intermediate staff in companies producing platforms and components; have the qualifications to work as an operator or pilot in companies that perform flight operations. The training received by the graduates of the program will enable them to learn the dynamics of the unmanned aerial vehicle industry and to position themselves in this business line with the growth to be experienced in the sector in the coming years.


Equipping our students with both a theoretical and practical infrastructure in the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Technologies and Operations program, we aim to train our students as individuals who are constantly renewing themselves, who can analyze, develop their practical design skills, who are entrepreneurial, curious to explore and who are prone to teamwork, and “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles” will make a difference in Turkish Industry. To enable them to become “Aircraft Technologies and Operations Technician”.

Applied Education Model

OSTİM Technical University was established in providing business and financial center have made remarkable contributions in Turkey’s industrialization. In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical training is given importance in order to benefit from this knowledge. Starting from the first year, students will receive practical training, one course in each semester, in the first year of business in international trade and finance units in order to gain observation, application, innovation and management skills in the business environment.

Entrepreneurship Scorecard

Entrepreneurship Scorecard, which is based on gaining entrepreneurship mentality, equipment and skills to OSTİM Technical University students, is a follow-up procedure that allows the evaluation of the performance of each student in the university according to some predetermined or subsequently accepted entrepreneurial actions and in case of passing a certain stage.

For our students who have achieved a certain payroll in the Entrepreneurship Scorecard, our school will be given support and awards such as start-up capital support for the design, product, service or project they have established, job opportunities in OSTİM Technopark, finding and contacting partners, and internship opportunities abroad.
