As part of its applied engineering education and industrial digitalization initiatives, OSTİM Teknik Üniversitesi has adopted a domestic Industrial IoT (IIoT) platform. Proxus has been actively deployed on the university’s servers.
As part of this collaboration, the Proxus platform has been positioned on the university’s internal infrastructure, enabling students to directly utilize it in coursework and project studies. This allows students to extend theoretical knowledge into practical application by experiencing real industrial scenarios such as industrial data acquisition, data structuring, edge-based processing, and real-time monitoring.
Proxus is built upon the Unified Namespace (UNS) methodology, designed to organize and manage multi-source industrial data within a centralized and structured architecture. This model enables students to explore scalable and sustainable data frameworks beyond conventional point-to-point integration methods.
Within the scope of its use at the university, students;
- Industrial device connectivity and data flow,
- UNS-based data modeling,,
- Edge-level data processing and rule definition,,
- Real-time monitoring and dashboard design
Students carry out practical studies in these areas.
This initiative, academically led by Demiral Akbar, aims to familiarize students—before graduation—with the data structures and system architectures they will encounter in industry. In this way, it seeks to establish a stronger connection between theoretical knowledge and real-world industrial needs.
Within the scope of the collaboration between OSTİM Teknik Üniversitesi and Proxus, it is planned to support the outcomes gained through academic publications and applied research projects. The initiative aims to strengthen university–industry interaction and contribute to the development of qualified human resources in the field of industrial digitalization.
